The Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights

The Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights, an independent, not-for-profit Foundation, was established on January 9th, 2006. Among it’s founders is former Norwegian prime minister, Kjell Magne Bondevik. The mission of the Center rests on two main pillars, Peace and Human Rights.

This website is a fairly simple news and profiling site. The first draft for the current design was made by fellow designer Jørgen Vestby. I did a redesign and implemented it with a modern CMS (Joomla) and content.

Of special notice is the bilangual function of the site offered by Joomfish, a langauge handler for Joomla. Upon entering the site, it will try to determine your preffered language by reading the langauage settings for your browser. If that langauge is Norwegian, a Norwegian translation of the site will be offered. If tha langage is not Norwegian, the original English text will be presented.

Translation is done manually by the editors through the administration panel.
